Mother Hippo saves her calf

A Mother Hippo is a dangerous foe, especially if one is actively engaged in attacking her offspring. Two young male lions were soon to discover this. Sandy was on a night drive out of Kaingo Camp with Anita and Gunther Schreier, when they spotted a young Hyaena snuffling back and forth across the dried bed of a lagoon. They explored further and discovered that he had been tracking two young male Lions. These boys were on the hunt close to the Luangwa River and they were looking hungry . . ..
