On our evening drive we followed a pride of lions, this was the Hollywood pride and they were about 6 adult females and 9 cubs.

They got into hunting mode after seeing two waterbucks who were sleeping on a grassy patch. The lions all got into position, ready to hunt but unfortunately for them, they missed and the waterbucks ran away.

However, the hunt carried on but there was not much plain game left around, until they spooked  a honey badger from the bushes. The whole pride went for the honey badger, but surprisingly enough the lions didn’t manage to catch him, though there was 15 of them against 1 badger!

They chased it for more than 150 metres and the little animal escaped after going under some roots of a tree. Indeed honey badgers are tough animals!
