On the evening of July 10th, we were having pre-dinner drinks with the guests at Kaingo Camp when we heard some commotion not far, lions and hyena growling. We took the guest with us and went to see what was happening, it was nearby, when we cross the Ebony forest just behind Kaingo.

The Mwamba-Kaingo pride of lions had killed a big male kudu, there were about 14 lions on the kill.

The other great part of this last minute sighting, was that not very far from the scene there was a big male leopard watching the lions feeding!

It was really amazing and exciting for us and the guests, to have both cats in the same place – and all this as an appetizer to our dinner!
