Phil Branham was kind enough to send us this picture of Eliott the one-eyed leopard. So named after Pat’s Uncle who also had only one eye.

For  those of you who are new to our newsletters this year we first met Eliott as a small cub just before the rains last year. He had been attacked by a resident male who killed his sister and hooked his eye out of the socket. We didn’t think he was going to make it through the rains so we were thrilled to find him still hanging out around Mwamba Bush Camp with his mum this year. He seems to be taking on his mother’s very relaxed nature and is very easy to spend time with.

Brilliant to hear that he survived !
One would imagine that it could be a serious disadvantage for a hunter so it will be interesting to find out how he fares once he has left mum. Hope that we may get to see him. We are counting down the days to our trip. Prepare the aardvark !
